Master Thesis - Design of a wide band amplifier module with digital gain control

The master thesis equals 30p in the MScEE program.

A wide band amplifier module, 1-15 GHz, with digital gain control shall be designed and tested. The digital gain control shall consist of an attenuator with up to 16 dB of attenuation and with an attenuator step size of 0.5 dB. The module benefits from the use of MMICs, both for the amplifier stage as well as for the attenuator. The design of the module shall also include the design of the necessary interface and drive circuits for the attenuator in order to control the gain using a computer.
