To validate the verification tasks, such as stress calculations, several tests can be performed. The necessary material data and spectrum independent parameters are created with coupon and components tests. In addition, RUAG Aviation has been performing static and fatigue tests up to full scale tests for many years. Electrical testing of harnesses and wire bundles, in the shop as well as after installation on wing, is an essential task. These tests, based on the latest aviation standards, are performed with state of the art programmable equipment (FACT) which allows handling big volumes and different test variants.
RUAG Aviation provides components and subsystems environmental testing in accordance with the aviation and space requirements.
A beneficial experience is based on the design and creation of system hot mock up’s such as complex avionics upgrades. Beside of the concept design phase these mock up’s are supporting the detail design phase too, so risks are reduced drastically and in a early stage of the project. The customers of RUAG Aviation are supplied with an early conceptional overview of the particular change. Furthermore aero dynamical tests can be performed in the wind tunnels.
RUAG Aviation built up a significant level of experience in regard of ground and flight testing with various system installations and upgrades.
