“Number One Independent Space Product Supplier” is how RUAG Space defined its vision. But what exactly does it signify?
- Number One refers not only to the market position the division is striving to achieve, but above all to its desire to become customers’ supplier of choice. This doesn’t just mean continuing to ensure its customary on-time delivery of high-quality products, but also includes creating and nurturing long-term partnerships with customers and pursuing a product strategy developed in close cooperation with institutional clients.
- Independent should be understood, first and foremost, as independence from the various system suppliers. This independence allows RUAG Space to deliver its products to all prime contractors in equal measure, and is thus a key component of the RUAG strategy.
- The term product, too, implies rather more than might be assumed at first glance. Our emphasis is placed on the development and promotion of marketable products rather than one-offs that offer little or no potential for commercialising the technologies acquired.
- Finally, supplier describes where RUAG Space sees itself in the value chain, both now and in future. The aim is not to become a system supplier for complete satellites or launch vehicles, but to remain a supplier of subsystems and equipment to the space industry.
