RUAG Space is the world’s leading supplier of payload adapters and separation systems for commercial launch vehicles.
Our modular adapters enable fitting most satellites on the market to any launcher. We manufacture both aluminium and composite adapter structures depending on user requirements. We offer clamp-band as well as hard point separation systems. A new low-shock clamp-band separation system for very heavy payloads is available.
We are suppliers to Ariane, Atlas, Delta, Land Launch, Proton, Sea Launch, Soyuz, Taurus and Titan launchers.
At the end of 2008, we had performed over 400 separations in orbit-all successful!
Our Payload Adapters are tailored to our customers needs and manufactured out of aluminum or Carbon Fiber composite technologies to impressive performance.
Our separation systems keep satellites safely attached to their launchers during the tough journey to orbit and then with precision delivers the precious loads in orbit with the specified relative velocity, roll and spin. We have even engineered systems for special applications like in-orbit separation of return-to-earth capsules.
