Solar Array Drive Mechanisms

Solar Array Drive Mechanisms (SADM) provide the optimal alignment of a satellite's solar panels towards the Sun. For this core element of the power supply system, the highest levels of reliability are required. RUAG Space has developed a solar array drive mechanism specifically for the satellites of the European satellite navigation system Galileo constellation. With their family consisting of Septa 14, 23, 24, 31, 32, 33 and 41 RUAG Space now qualifies as the only European supplier offering the full range of SADM allowing to best serve its international customers. The RUAG Space SADM can be delivered with or without electronics. For limited angles SADM with cable-wrap are also available.
