RUAG Space Trainee Program

Are you fascinated by space and have just completed a Master's degree in engineering? Then join the RUAG Space Trainee Program, the perfect launchpad for an exciting career. The program will introduce you to the RUAG Space cosmos, prepare you for challenging tasks and missions, and propel you into an international career....

Who is the program designed for?

The RUAG Space Trainee Program is aimed at talented postgraduates who achieve excellent grades in a Master's degree in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, microsystem technologies, electronic engineering or applied physics.

Good command of English, both written and spoken, is essential. Other qualities we look for in candidates are the ability to think outside the box, act proactively, be highly fascinated by space, and the desire to leave a mark on the universe.

What exactly does the program involve?

This international program offers you an opportunity to get to know RUAG in a uniquely profound and intensive way, and also to mark yourself out as a good candidate for greater responsibilities from the start. The program lasts 15 months in total and will introduce you to complex, challenging  projects through on-the-job training. At the same time, you will be completing two training modules on team building cultural awareness, leadership and communication. Throughout the program, you will be supervised by a personal mentor. For the first 12 months, you will be stationed in your home country, from where you will be able to explore the world of RUAG Space. After that, you will spend three months at one of our 13 RUAG Space locations in Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Austria or the US.

How to apply

The RUAG Space Trainee Program starts every year in September. Candidates are selected by our recruitment team in a two-stage process, with a pre-selection and online assessment followed by a one-day assessment centre in the relevant country. Only applications that are complete and submitted before the deadline can be considered. If you have any questions about when to apply, the application process or the program itself, please contact Chrystel Brantschen.
