General Counsel to leave RUAG

Patrick Grawehr, General Counsel and member of the RUAG Executive Board, who holds a PhD in law, has decided to take on a new challenge outside of RUAG and will leave the company in mid-2017. ...

Patrick Grawehr was appointed by the RUAG Board of Directors in 2014 and is a member of RUAG's Executive Board. In his role as General Counsel he has advised the Group in all legal and compliance matters. His core tasks included cultivating shareholder relations, assisting the Board of Directors, and monitoring compliance and contracts.

He has played a key role in uniting the RUAG Legal department under joint management in Corporate Services and further expanding RUAG’s Compliance Management.

Patrick Grawehr holds a doctorate in law and is a practising lawyer. He obtained his first degree from the University of Fribourg, and his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen. He also holds a Master’s degree (MLaw) from the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Patrick Grawehr has many years of experience in Swiss industrial and technology companies. Before joining RUAG, he was Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Board of Directors of Kaba Group. Prior to this he worked for the Ascom Group, where his last position was that of General Counsel.

Succession arrangements are underway and will be announced in due course. In the interim, Alexander Harte, Vice President Legal, will act as General Counsel.
