RUAG Aviation attains 2nd place Green Award for painting

RUAG Aviation’s Munich-Oberpfaffenhofen Paint Shop has been honoured with the 2nd place besser lackieren. Green Award, in the category of in-house coating: companies with less than 50 employees. ...

Determined by a panel comprising representatives of besser lackieren., Fraunhofer IPA, the German Federal Environment Ministry, as well as from leading companies such as Audi, the besser lackieren. Green Award is the only official competition in the German-speaking world that evaluates industrial painting capabilities. The shortlisted companies are evaluated and selected based on their innovation and dedication, their contribution to benchmarking and advancing coating technologies, as well as their involvement in the strengthening of technology transfers.

“This award affirms the high standards of quality delivered by our paint specialists in realising customers’ visions for their aircraft exteriors,” says Hermann Bauer, RUAG Aviation’s General Manager of Aviation Shops Services. “Our customers have long valued our innovative know-how and reliability, and we are delighted that this has now also been formally recognised within the industry.”

Carsten Matthiesen, Director of Exterior Services at RUAG Aviation, adds: “Quality and precision are certainly our focus, but of equal importance is maintaining and improving the sustainability of our methods, particularly with regard to its environmental impact.”

The besser lackieren. Green Award emphasises the development of coating technologies and know-how through learning from industry leaders. It further aims to highlight the importance of properly performed coating, from extending product and platform service life to enhancing appearances.
