RUAG Aviation named authorised service centre for Cobham OBIGGS systems

Emmen, Switzerland, 17 June 2013. Cobham and RUAG Aviation have announced the creation of a new authorised Cobham service centre at RUAG Aviation’s site in Interlaken, Switzerland. The service centre will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as well as testing and inspection services for On-Board Inert Gas Generating System (OBIGGS) Nitrogen Inert Units (NIU) of Apache helicopters for the international community. ...

Signed during the 2013 Paris Air Show, the Repair Station and Supply Agreement adds another level to RUAG Aviation’s service capabilities on behalf of Cobham and broadens its portfolio, which already includes Eurocopter, Bell and Sikorsky helicopters.

“RUAG Aviation will be responsible for aftermarket support of OBIGGS units outside of the US, which will continue to be served by Cobham,” says Stephan Jezler, RUAG Aviation’s Vice President Subsystems & Products. “The establishment of RUAG Aviation’s Europe-based service centre provides operators of Apache helicopters with convenient access to a comprehensive range of reliable authorised services for their OBIGGS units.”

“Having an OBIGGS service centre at RUAG Aviation in Europe will further improve the customer support we are able to offer our customers, especially in terms of reducing turnaround times,” says Kelly Coffield, president of Cobham Life Support.
