At the beginning of April, Airbus singled out RUAG Aerostructures for its Best Improver award in connection with the SQIP 2016 (Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Program) in Toulouse. RUAG Aerostructures garnered this award for its superb track record in terms of supplier reliability and outstanding product quality.
Alexander Toussaint, CEO of RUAG Aerostructures, is delighted by this recognition: "We are very proud to have met the high requirements of Airbus SQIP", he said at the prize-giving ceremony in Toulouse. "We will continue to do our utmost to assure our customers of excellent supplier reliability and product quality over the long term". The Best Improver award from Airbus is already the third quality prize received by RUAG - after the Best Overall Performance Award from Bombardier and the 2015 Bavarian Quality Prize - in the space of one year.
With its SQIP program, Airbus is pursuing the aim of further developing the quality and reliability of its strategically important suppliers in order to achieve very high standards. Each year, as part of this program, Airbus presents an award to existing supply chain suppliers whose performance has been exceptional. These are suppliers that have successfully responded to new market challenges in line with Airbus's requirements and whose performance is clearly better than that of their competitors.
