As a key partner to the armed forces and a big employer in the Bernese Oberland, RUAG will take the opportunity to present its activities at the armed forces' "Thun meets Army and Air Force" event being held in Thun on 21-22 October 2016. By simultaneously staging its "RUAG TalentsDay", the international technology group will in particular be welcoming young visitors who would like to find out about training and apprenticeship opportunities at the Thun site.
RUAG offers comprehensive, practice-oriented basic training. Most of the vocational trainers at RUAG work full time and devote all their energies to this demanding task. At present, 326 young people are being trained by RUAG, 126 of them in the Bernese Oberland. RUAG provides attractive jobs for some 1300 employees in the region.
Shooting alongside Swiss biathletes
At its TalentsDay, RUAG will present examples of its broad field of activities and its varied and close partnership with the armed forces. As a further highlight, ambitious marksmen and women will be able to pitch their skills on a 10-metre air-rifle shooting range against top Swiss biathletes Irene Cadurisch, Benjamin Weger, Lena Häcki, Ivan Joller, Flurina Volken, Mario Dolder, Martin Jäger and Susi Meinen.
The RUAG exhibition will be held in the "green" (Polygon) zone of the event site shown on the "Thun meets Army and Air Force" site plan.
