Measures have already been implemented
RUAG is closely monitoring the situation around coronavirus and its impact on the company. End of February 2020 we set up a task force. Representatives from all business units as well as HSSE (Health, Security, Health, Safety, Security & Environment), Legal, HR and Communication daily analyze the situation and define any further measures that may be necessary. We rely on our medical advisors and on recommendations from official bodies such as the WHO and national health authorities.
Information for employees
We keep our employees informed through various information channels in several languages. At production sites, regular briefings on hygiene regulations take place. Employees can also contact the RUAG Switzerland helpline or the SOS Travel Assistance Hotline around the clock.
Risks and impact
RUAG has been able to ensure operational stability and continues to do so. We have established processes to ensure that operations continue as best they can during the uncertain times of the pandemic. For example, we have identified key roles to ensure that our core processes and projects run smoothly. We have also established a plan to ensure business continuity for our top management.
However, the pandemic may affect or completely disrupt the supply of goods. Depending on further developments, bottlenecks and thus delays in delivery may occur in the coming weeks. There is also a real risk that national health authorities will close one of our plants in the event of an infection among our employees. Luckily, we do not yet have a confirmed case of coronavirus infection.
RUAG is doing everything in its power to protect our employees from infection, thereby ensuring that we can maintain our business activities and continue to deliver with full performance even in this particularly difficult situation.
We are constantly monitoring developments and are acting accordingly. If there is an impact for any of our business partners, we will inform them as soon as possible.
Detailed information on the measures already taken, such as a general travel ban, online meetings, event cancellations, visitor self-declaration and all other preventive measures, is available via your preferred RUAG contact.
