What you do
Multimedia electronics specialists are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of devises in the area of consumer electronics. This mainly includes colour TVs, video devices, camcorders, hi-fi systems and components, as well as small audio, video and TV device, computers, monitors, AV systems and in-house data networks. You are familiar with these various devices, can operate and implement them and maintain them.
As a competence specialist, you advise customers on how to connect consumer electronics devices. You plan the installation, generate quotes and complete orders. For a good portion of your working hours, you are on-site at customers’ locations in order to set up systems and devices. You perform the service and repair work yourself in the workshop. You set up PCs according to customers’ wishes and install the relevant programs. You have particular knowledge in video and audio editing programs. You enjoy solving difficult technical problems and abstract thinking, have imagination and combination thinking abilities, as well as the stamina to repair electronic devices.
